Kiba Vet privacy notice
Version 2026-09-25
Draft for legal review before launch. Kiba Vet's legal name and address will be published here before accounts open to the public.
Who is responsible for my data?
Kiba Vet is responsible for your account, your consents, the ads and the history sharing feature.
Each clinic is responsible for what it records about you and your pet. Kiba Vet stores that information on the clinic's behalf.
What data does Kiba Vet keep?
Your name, email, phone and language.
Your pets' data: name, species, breed, weight, vaccines, visits, studies, prescriptions, hospital stays and appointments.
Your area for the lost pets network: an approximate point (about 500 m) or the neighborhood you type. Never your exact location, never in the background.
Your answers to "Do they allow pets?" and the places you suggest, with the photo if you upload one. They are linked to your account to prevent abuse and so you can change or delete them. Other owners see how many answers there are and the photos; your name never appears.
Security logs: who viewed or changed the record, when and from which clinic.
If you turn on personalized ads, your phone's advertising ID.
What does Kiba Vet use my data for?
To give you access to your account and your pets' records, send you reminders and sign-in codes, and keep the information secure.
To share the history with a clinic, only when you allow it in the app.
For the lost pets network: with your area we show you lost pets near you and, if yours gets lost, we tell people who live nearby. Every account is part of the network. The public page of a lost pet shows photo, description and approximate area; never your name, phone or address. We record who sees each alert and who contacts whom, to prevent abuse and extortion.
Uses you can decline and keep using the app: personalized ads and AI. Both start off. Without your permission you see non-personalized ads.
Who is my data shared with?
With the clinics you allow, one by one. The app records who, when and what scope you gave. You can remove access at any time; what the clinic already received stays in its record.
With the person who told you they saw your lost pet: only what you write in the chat after you accept the contact.
With providers working on Kiba Vet's behalf: Amazon Web Services (servers and files), Brevo (email), Google and Apple (sign-in) and, if you turn on AI, the AI provider. They may not use your data for anything else.
With Google, for ads. It only gets the advertising ID if you accept personalized ads.
How do I see, correct or delete my data?
In the app, under Profile › My data and privacy: download everything, ask for a correction, delete your account or object to a use.
You can also write to privacidad@kibavet.com. We answer within 20 business days and, if it applies, act within 15 more business days.
If a clinic recorded the data, the app sends your request to that clinic and tells you who handles it.
What happens if I delete my account?
Your account is blocked: nobody uses it. After 5 years it is erased.
What each clinic recorded stays with that clinic. Prescriptions are kept for at least 1 year.
How do I withdraw a permission?
Under Profile › My data and privacy you can turn off personalized ads or AI, and remove a clinic's access. The change applies from that moment.
How will I know about changes to this notice?
We tell you in the app and by email. If the uses change, the app asks you to accept the new version.
